= Hello there Wanted to know the best nas for hosting a plex media server for personal use Only I will stream over it and maybe just one person more I currently am using pi 4b 8gb and everything is running fine So if someone could recommend something that can handle 4K please =

I would look for something with a newer intel CPU that has quick sync. It should handle most content just fine.

RPi 4 will handle 4K absolutely fine as long as there's no transcoding involved. The only transcoding it can handle is audio. So if your TV (or whatever device you use) supports the exact format of the video you wanna play, it won't transcode and RPi 4 will do just fine.

perfect but what if i wanna go for a nas which can transcode nicely too for me so i am future proof , can you suggest somethingi will always use the pms for myself only

In order to handle streaming 4K that is going to be more reliant on your internet connection than it will be the server specs. If you don't have a high enough upload speed it will never be possible. Hopefully you have a symmetrical fiber optic connection.
