The people over at OpenBSD.Amsterdam have rather good experiences with Dell r620s.

Can confirm, have an older Dell server and OpenBSD is supported on it. The PERC RAID card works and all. My only problem is I have no where to host the server for free because my contact up and changed the rules. R410s, R420s, R620s, R710s all seems to be supported fine. I have not had the chance to install OpenBSD on a newer Dell server like the R440s we have at work but I know that even CentOS 7 has problems on their RAID card called a PERC so I would be careful if getting a super new server.
