= Emergency request - best cloud VPS/dedicated hosting for high-traffic Wordpress site? =

Siteground completely screwed me today with their cpanel -> Site Tools changeover and I'm getting redirect loops and all kinds of issues

It's at the point where I'm thinking of making an emergency move

Can anyone recommend one or two good Wordpress hosting companies that offer a VPS or dedicated cloud solution that can handle high CPU usage?
Right now at Siteground I pay like $1700 a year for their Business Plus cloud option, which is 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 5 TB monthly transfer

So that's around what I'd need

I've considered Liquid Web in the past. Are they good? Is someone else better?
I don't trust these Top 10 reviews that appear at the top of a google search. Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated

Depends where your clients

For Germany, Netherland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Finnland Choose Hetzner

For all others Check out Vultr, Digital Ocean or UpCloud. (UpCloud got the best specs beside Hetzner)
Or go with an unmanaged server and choose GridPane.com to get them managed. If you want to save some money on the plans they offer, send me an message

Most low end cloud providers would be able to provide you an unmanaged server with those specs for about $700/yr. A good IT consultant would probably charge about $50/hr for web development work

I suppose if you find a good consultant they could probably set you up in a real cloud environment and successfully ensure that your site runs without issues while only spending 20 hours per year. And that would be for the exact same price you pay now

So how would this differ from your current solution? well basically, the server isn't the biggest cost so you could get a very stable server on reliable modern hardware, instead of somesite ground found in theirand oversells as "managed VPS"

Also a real consultant will have proper experience, and when they work, they work for you and only you. They will tweak the server for your needs, and not someone-size-fits-all solution

for those exact same specs I pay $40 a month on digital ocean. for $80 a month you can get 16GB Ram, 6vCPUs. 6TB of transfer320GB of SSD
let me know if you need some help with that, or if you register we can both get some credit if you use my referral code. I can give you some pointers even if you don't wanna use a code anyways ;)
I used a company called National Net for years and they handled my Wordpress site on a dedicated managed server for $200/mo. I served upwards of 800k page views per month at peak

The one time I crashed it was a live event scoop at 70k hits per hour. Other than that it was rock solid

National Net was bought by Total Server Solutions a couple years ago and there was little change in service

I’ve since wound down but that’s something I’d recommend if you don’t want to roll your own AWS or Azure install

I have recently moved a site which gets over 2.5million pageviews/mo. to AWS Lightsail. I used Lightsail since I have $5k credits

I would recommend if you are making a move then take a look at Hetzner (limited data centers), Vultr HF, Linode or UpCloud and use server management panel like RunCloud (24/7 Support) or Ploi or ServerPilot

You will save a lot of money and will have a better control on your setup
