= Webmin 2.0 Released For Open-Source Web-Based Server Management/Administration =
Good old webmin. I used it to set up samba shares way back when I didnâÂÂt understand how to do it on the command line
Back in the late aughties Webmin was going to help me convince the MSCEs I worked with to go Linux. Sadly, it did not happen
phoronix.com/news/W..
It has a lot of helpful documentation built into the console to help you learn
I was expecting something a bit more but looking at git it does appear they simply ran out of tags without going to 1.9999 ð¤£
Hah, yeah - I've not seen webmin in at least five years, and those screenshots still look like the "new" skin I remember feeling awfully modern back then
Hmm, looks suspiciously similar to 1.x, but I'm still using it for a few homelab things
It reminds me of when apps are renamed to "Foo-NG" or "Foo - Next Generation". The label doesn't age well..
Glad to see webmin is still around even if it scares the heck out of me from a security standpoint
