= When to setup up to a managed VPS or stick it out on shared hosting? And general new to VPS question. =

I run roughly 3 WP sites that are passion projects and a small brochureware site. Traffic is under 5k visits per month. I'm up for renewal with Siteground and their renewal cost is so high it has me looking at other options.

The big thing i'm interested in is a speed boost but I don't want want to manage/optimize a server. I've never had a VPS before and my experience has always been cPanel on shared hosts.

Is it a waste of money to opt for a VPS with such low traffic or is there definitely a speed bump with a managed VPS from Cloud way?

Since i've never had a VPS before, i'm a bit confused on how many resources i would need. I'm eyeing the four options below:

VPS CW Digital Ocean "premium" for $12 monthly with: 1GB RAM, 1 Core Processor, 1TB bandwidth

VPS CW Digital Ocean "premium" for $26 monthly with: Object Cache Pro?, 2GB RAM, 1 Core, 2TB bandwidth

Shared A2 Hosting Turbo Boost for $6.99 monthly with NVMe storage

Share KnownHost Standard for $6.49 monthly

I'm totally fine with updating, backing up, installing WP, adding domains, etc - but i dont really want to deal with managing/optimizing a server - which i believe if i opt for managed VPS that is handled?

TL;DR - am i just throwing away money getting a managed VPS for 3 small WP sites with essentially no traffic or will a managed VPS get me noticeably faster site speeds? Is there a better (faster or most cost effective) managed VPS host that i should consider outside of CW?

When you say VPS .. its a complete virtual server which not only will improve the speed of your site but if you want you can also implement good security rules which at times are difficult to implement on shared hosting plan. Looking at your comments it seems you are just worried about server management. I would suggest you to go for Managed VPS hosting provider there are companies out there that offer free server management in which they can help you manage /monitor your VPS 24x7x365 day help you with proactive services and server upgrades, better find a managed hosting provider there are plenty of good providers you can opt for.
