= Dedicated Server - Which has the best support out of: NixiHost / iWebFusion / KnownHost ? =

I know all of these are highly recommended in this subreddit. We are currently looking to move away from our shared host at Hostgator. We bought a dedicated server with them a couple months ago, and have been preparing our code to switch (over a decade of custom code, nothing off the shelf). But their support is so bad, we are going to cut our losses

Our site / systems are small in size (under 20GB total, and very little traffic), but we want to have everything on our own server even though it's probably overkill. With that said the most important things we are looking for is:
GREAT support

Fully Managed Hosting (we don't want to deal directly with server issues unless necessary, needs to be monitored etc)
Great Uptime
Fastest (non-cached) Speeds
We are currently having our needs met by $15/month hosting, but the nature of the business requires maximum up time (systems are used 24/7 by multiple employees at all times). The cost is not an issue here, we are simply looking for the fastest/most reliable server, with the best support out there. Any thoughts, on support alone, what our best bet would be?

Hi there /u/TheDataWhore
Thanks for considering us over at KnownHost. I don't think your requirements are that far out there, and at least you do realize that a dedicated server is properly overkill for you

I would suggest looking at your fault tolerance and designing a plan around that, the more uptime you need and the more what-if scenarios you cover obviously the more expensive it gets, however, there are tons of middle-ground scenarios to help you plan for a disaster and have a quick/tested recovery path

If you want to chat more about your needs let me know. I'm personally not a believer in selling folks things they don't need but its always good to take a deep dive into things and check everything out

Thanks for considering us!
There are definitely some things you want to take in to account with a dedicated server, namely backups. Fully managed can setup and maintain the backups for you, but will not by default (as far as I'm aware at any company) store those backups for you. An extra drive in the server, Google Drive, a local machine, etc. The rule of threes is most definitely recommended (3 backups to one site)

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about us!

Managed doesn't mean what you think it does, most hosts install cPanel on the server, and leave the rest to you - you're probably going to need to hire a full-time sysadmin if you want this, remember that these companies have thousands of clients they have to deal with

You should probably have a VPS, instead of a dedi, because a dedi is way too overkill
