I'm looking to set up a dedicated server for me and a couple of my friends, and am having a hard time deciding on which provider to use. In the past I have rented a server from Nitrado with pretty good results, but they don't currently have any availability in the New York server, or in North America at all for that matter (seems the only availability is in Frankfurt, Germany, and I don't relish the thought of my server being across the Atlantic).

So I'm looking for suggestions. If anyone has experience with any of the hosting companies, I'm more interested in performance than a super low price, but that being said I don't want to pay an arm and a leg.

Thanks in advance!
Hello fellow canuck,

[OVH](httpswww.ovh.com/ca/en/vps/vps-ssd.xml) is my current VPS provider, well known in Europe and Asia apparently, not as much NA, but they do have a canada/NY servers. The SSD 2 (4GB ram) option would be what I'd use for avorion. 2GB wasn't enough, though I haven't run a server since the optimization patches. But if 2GB ram is enough definitely that!

[Digital Ocean](httpswww.digitalocean.com/pricing/) is also extremely well known and respected, would go for their 3GB option (or 2 if the server is low ram enough)

It beats out all of the options I've looked at about 5 months ago, but I do suggest to do some shopping around too, as always

hope this helps
