= Are there any managed VPS Linux Ubuntu hosting companies? =
It seems everything for Linux Ubuntu is unmanaged, which I have no experience in as I am most concern about the security. Are there any managed Linux Ubuntu companies out there? I'll need SSH access still if it's managed. I know I may pay a bit more for a managed server but I'll rather not have to stress about security or anything related to the server.
The hosting companies that usually offer services like vps , dedicated, they all offer unmanaged because managed service require on hand person dealing with your server and that's not going into their finances good. Some of them offer per hour support which isexpensive, it can go to 100$/h if something is wrong and they have to take a look.
What usually you will find is small agencies dealing with managing the servers. But more important is the way server is setup and how good and secured is configuration. I offer managed vps services but I would not take the server someone else built as it might cause more frustrations.
What are you trying to do with it and do you specifically need a VPS or Ubuntu? When I was doing consulting last year I was charging $150/hr for management of a company's on prem ubuntu servers with a 1 hour minimum for engagements and a 5 hour minimum retainer per month,
