RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol. This is most common with Microsoft Windows servers, and provides users with a friendly to use Graphical User Interface.

In contrast, a Ubuntu VPS is likely to come with Shell access (SSH access), which instead of being a Graphical (click, drag, ect) user interface, is a text based user interface like the Windows Command Prompt.

"Ubuntu VPS" means a Virtual Private Server (a Virtual Machine) with some version of Ubuntu OS installed. A VPS looks like a regular computer to it's user - the user usually has a full access to it and can do whatever they want on the machine, even OS reinstallation.

Ubuntu is an Operating System, one of many Linux flavors.

"RDP" - Remote Desktop Protocol - is a protocol to access a remote computer using a graphical interface. Usually is used to access Windows boxes, but you can add support for it into Linux as well. In the world of hosting, "RDP" quite often equals "Windows VPS", i.e. a VPS with of of Windows versions preinstalled.
