= Option to download a full application backup from console (web files + database) =
I want downloadable backups to transfer them to some other server or our inhouse server

It is very important to have different locational or different provider to have my backup
as somefine day if something happens to your infra (i really don't wish) but data is crucial and i want to be dead sure
i have 5 customers to refer to but with out option of thirdparty backup they will not get to you

This has now been completed. In Server tab, under Backup section you can now enable “Local Backups”

This will take, additionally to the off-site backup, a local application backup (both files and database) in the local_backup sub-folder of each application. Just one backup set (latest) will be stored there

You can automate downloading backups to wherever you want via SSH/SFTP

We are going to create KB’s and a blog post related to this new feature. Will post links here when done

GREAT! Thank you! And I think it was a good way to implement it

Would be great to be able to set a specific backup time though :)

Sometimes we need to restore only some files from the backup and this is not possibile without the downloadable backup files. IMHO this is a must have option
Wait a minute. Are you telling me you cannot download a copy of your server from Cloudways?
That is very recommended and make our task easy if you implement it ASAP
Actually lack of this option is stopping me from using cloudways to host my production applications

This is a must have. I Agree

Furthermore you can provide the option to upload the backup to a dropbox account as 2 different files: 1 file for site files and 1 file for db

Agreed!

I agree with the others. This a a must-have feature, and so is the ability to be able to automate it - either by having the server push to a remote location (SFTP/S3/other) OR being able to fetch it from ie. a remote cronjob through a protected URL

I second the link to download. Maybe the first version of a Cloudways API?

An extra idea might be to integrate some sort of regular push of these backups to an sftp server which is customer configured, so that one can set up a scheduled push of backups to an external location and don't have to download manually

Or simply make a link which it can be command line fetched using curl or wget (but still using some credentials in the link and over https
