Amazon Engineer Sues for Work From Home Costs. Employees May Not Like it if He Wins (msn.com)

Any thoughts on this?

I'm all in on fully working from home and making your employer pay for the additional costs of it, but there is at least one good point in this article:

"If they have to pay people extra to work at home while still paying for office space, the work-from-home perk will likely be the thing that goes away."

Do you guys think this is going to cause even more of a push towards returning to offices, or no?

In the Netherlands, employers can choose to either give the employees travel cost (0.19 cents per km) or work from home costs (up to a maximum 2 euro per day). Both systems are free of any tax, (unlike extra salary) but an employee may only use 1 system.

Astro turf.

A faux case to build an argument against work from home.

I don't persue any extra payments for working from home.

I would turn extra money down.

I save enough on travel and food costs.

Anyone claiming extra money to work from home is an.

Exactly. The savings in time and money from commuting are all I need. I would have an internet connection anyways that I use off hours, the electricity used by my laptop is also pretty negligible.

Some rando's lawsuit, win or lose, doesn't mean anything to actual compensation negotiations.

"To work for you, I want the following: A, B and C."

"We'll give you A and B, but not C."

"Then I won't work for you."
