= Home server or VPS as the exit node? =

![ ](httpswww.redditstatic.com/desktop2x/img/renderTimingPixel.png)

I am playing with the idea of using an exit node to route all internet traffic. I am not sure whether it's better to use a home server (which I already have) or a VPS (which I will purchase).

Is there any benefit to spend a few dollars every month to use a cheap VPS as the exit node?

Thanks!

Many streaming sites block traffic originating from a datacentre to combat VPNs.

The issue with using a home server is you'll be limited to the upload of your home internet. ServerCheap.net has decent cheap VPSes.

Thanks. I have a fiber connection and I stream through my own plex server, so upload shouldn't be a problem.
